Urgent notice on pending Trade Mark applications issued


The Department of Industry, Government of Nepal, issued an important update on 1 December 2025 concerning the processing of trade mark applications, requiring immediate action from applicants.

All pending applications, particularly those with incomplete documentation, must be resubmitted with all required documents within 90 days (by 28 February 2026). Applications pending for more than seven years that are not resubmitted within this period will be automatically cancelled.

In addition, applicants with approved marks published without opposition must submit the necessary documents to collect their registration certificates within six months (by 31 May 2026). Failure to do so will also result in cancellation.

Trade mark owners are advised to review their Nepalese filings promptly to avoid loss of rights.
