It outlines the main international legal acts to which Poland is a party and describes domestic laws. The authors have presented the way in which a trademark application is filed and then undergoes the necessary proceedings before it matures to registration. Not only the national, but also the international and CTM route have been noted. Further on, the article deals with enforcement of rights deriving from trademark registration and the remedies available to trademark owners to counteract infringement or unlawful use. The actions to be undertaken against infringement have been divided into two categories: civil and criminal. As the last point, the authors have presented the anti-counterfeiting actions available to customs authorities.  read more
