IR Opposition Periods

Print this page
The owner of an International Registration (so-called IR mark) is allowed to extend the request for protection to one single or all member states of the Madrid System without further national applications. This process is known as “designation”.

The list below contains the periods of opposition against such designation of internationally registered trademarks (IR) to the respective country. “Opposition period” indicates the deadline for filing an opposition against an International Registration at the national trade mark office.

Click on the column headline to sort the list alphabetically by the selected criterion.

Notes:
  • IR: International Registrations may be valid in this country (Y = Yes, N = No)
  • Opposition period: Deadline for filing an opposition against the designation of the International Registration to this country.
