On October 31, 2024, the Official Journal of Trade Marks (OJTM) was decommissioned.

This follows changes from the Intellectual Property Laws Amendment (Regulator Performance) Regulations 2024 made on 17 May, 2024 to streamline communications.

Key changes:
All materials previously advertised in the OJTM are now published on the following platforms:

1) Australian Trade Mark Search:
items published on the search include most items related to the conduct of the Trade Marks Office, including filings, acceptances, and registrations of trade marks.

2) IP Australia’s website:
notices and conditions related to TM Headstart requests, Non-Legislative Instruments, and days when the Trade Marks Office is closed will be published on this website.

3) Trans-Tasman IP Attorneys website:
items published on this site include disciplinary tribunal decisions will be published on their website.

What this means for you
From 1 November 2024, new issues of the OJTM will no longer be published. Historical copies of past Journals will remain available from our website.
