Local publication of Madrid Protocol trademark applications


The Qatari Trademark Office has announced that all trademark applications filed under the Madrid Protocol will now be published locally on the Ministry of Economy and Trade’s official website.

The first publication was released on October 1, 2025, marking a significant milestone as it is the first time that Madrid Protocol applications designated to Qatar will be publicly accessible through a central online portal. The Ministry has confirmed that the local publication date will serve as the official start date for the 60-day opposition period available to third parties. Going forward, all Madrid Protocol applications designated to Qatar will appear on the Ministry’s portal, and a monthly electronic gazette will be issued listing all accepted international trademark filings.
