Continued growth in IP filings


Industrial property activity in Morocco continued to grow during the first half of 2026, according to figures published by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).

Trademark applications reached 16,911, up 5% compared with the same period in 2025. Industrial design filings increased by 9% to 3,510, while patent applications rose by 7% to 1,557.

Pharmaceutical products were among the most active sectors for both trademark and patent filings, while packaging-related designs accounted for a significant share of industrial design activity.

The figures underline Morocco’s growing importance as a market for brand development, innovation and investment, and highlight the value of securing IP rights at an early stage when entering or expanding in the country.
